Fiat has introduced a conversion kit for its 2027 Topolino model, making it street legal by increasing its top speed to 25 miles per hour, up from the standard 19 mph. This low-speed vehicle (LSV) conversion kit is included with subsequent shipments to dealers, allowing owners to drive on roads with speed limits under 25 mph. Andrew Waterhouse, head of Fiat North America, highlighted the Topolino as a new chapter for Fiat in North America, bringing Italian style and the “la dolce vita” lifestyle into the micromobility space.
The 2027 Topolino also features a new body style, the Topolino Open Air, which comes with a soft-top roll-back roof and can be purchased with or without doors. The model includes a full-color digital instrument cluster and two new exterior colors, Corallo Orange and Luna Greige. It is powered by an 8-horsepower electric motor and a 5.0-kilowatt-hour battery, offering up to 46 miles of range per charge and a five-hour recharge time via an AC connection. Standard features include LED headlights and taillights, seat belts, side mirrors, a USB-C charge port, and stereo Bluetooth speakers.
Priced at $13,995, the 2027 Fiat Topolino maintains the cost of the initial 2026 allocation, with no mention of a destination charge. The vehicle is available now through select dealers, with complimentary home delivery offered within a 50-mile radius. Waterhouse noted the strong customer response, with many dealers quickly selling through their initial allocations, indicating a significant demand for the Topolino’s simple and joyful mobility.
