The second-generation Lexus NX is receiving a mid-cycle refresh, introducing updated styling and Lexus’ sixth-generation hybrid system. The NX 450h+, a plug-in hybrid variant, now boasts a larger battery capacity of 23.0 kilowatt hours, extending its all-electric range to 62 miles and delivering a combined 303 horsepower in Europe. The NX 350h features a lighter lithium-ion battery from the ES 350h, enhancing the cooling system for increased output. Both models offer improved performance, with the NX 350h producing 196 hp and the NX 450h+ achieving 62 mph in 6.3 seconds. In the US, the 2026 NX 450h+ produces 304 hp, the 350h produces 240 hp, and a non-hybrid version with a 275-hp turbocharged engine is also available.

The new Lexus NX showcases an evolution of its Vital x Tech design theme, featuring a redesigned front fascia with a frameless spindle grille and revised headlights. The rear design includes a tweaked taillight layout with a repeated L-motif. The F Sport trim stands out with 20-inch wheels, red brake calipers, and rear-bumper aero. Inside, the NX undergoes its most significant transformation with a new dashboard, center console, and instrument panel inspired by the ES sedan and TZ SUV. A large 14.0-inch infotainment display is complemented by a 12.3-inch driver display and a revised instrument panel. The NX now includes capacitive HVAC and camera controls, a new center console, and adjusted seating positions for better comfort and handling.

Lexus has made several enhancements to improve the NX’s driving experience. The engine block has been reshaped for increased rigidity, reducing noise and vibration by around 20 percent. Sound-absorbing materials have been added to the rear bumper, rear doors, and center pillars. The floor rigidity has been increased by 25 percent, enhancing steering response and reducing vibrations. Additionally, a reworked front suspension tower integrated with the front pillar structure has resulted in a 30 percent increase in rigidity. The updated NX is set to go on sale in Europe in early spring 2027, with pricing and availability for the US market still to be determined. The 2026 NX 350h starts at $46,570, while the NX 450h+ starts at $59,505, with expected price increases for the revamped model.
