Saleen Teases Widebody Mustang. You Can Buy Shares To Back It
The Saleen SR Widebody Mustang rendering shows extreme fenders and a huge wing, while the company pursues small investors with detailed fundraising terms.
Saleen Automotive is previewing its next project with a partial teaser. The SR Widebody image shows flared fenders and a trunk-mounted wing hinting at serious downforce ambitions, built on the current S650 Mustang.
Exact power figures and release plans are not confirmed yet. What is confirmed is that Saleen is again asking everyday buyers to help fund the company, a pitch that has drawn as much attention as the car itself.
What The Teaser Shows
The image Saleen released is a digital rendering, and most of it sits under a dark cover. What's visible are dramatically widened front and rear fenders, pushed out further than anything currently in Saleen's Mustang lineup.
A large wing sits on the trunk lid. It looks bigger than the one Ford fits to the Mustang GTD, a car that already pushes hard into track-focused aero. That comparison alone sets expectations for what Saleen is chasing with this build.
Ford Mustang GTD Spirit Of America 2.0
Saleen has not disclosed an engine spec, a horsepower target, or a timeline for reveal. That is consistent with how the company handled its S1 supercar project, teasing shapes well before finalizing mechanical details.
The GTD itself runs a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 rated at 815 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque, priced north of $325,000. Whatever Saleen builds around this widebody kit will be measured against that benchmark.
Mustang GT Or Dark Horse Basis
2026 Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC
Saleen's current Mustang catalog already includes serious hardware. The Yellow Label package makes 775 hp, and the Black Label model now tops the range at 850 hp.
Whether the SR Widebody starts from a Mustang GT or the track-tuned Dark Horse has not been stated. The Dark Horse's stiffer chassis and larger factory brakes would make more sense under fenders this aggressive.
Saleen's Current Fundraising Pitch
The fundraising side is where the numbers get specific. Saleen is running a Regulation Crowdfunding campaign on Wefunder that offers a SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity) with a valuation cap of about $45 million, rather than straight common stock at a fixed per-share price.
Separately, the company has a Regulation Crowdfunding filing for common stock at $1.50 per share via Invown. The maximum raise there is relatively small, with a pre-money valuation disclosed just under $45 million. Both efforts target individual backers rather than institutional investors.
Saleen described this round as money coming "from individual investors like you." Earlier coverage put the combined total across both platforms at about $110,000, and the live Wefunder SAFE and Invown stock campaigns continue to move up and down as new pledges arrive and some are canceled.
Earlier investment packages ranged from $1,500 up to $50,000, with the top tier carrying a 5 percent discount.
