Las fotos que ves acá no son producto de la inteligencia artificial. Aunque es la clase de imagen que la IA te podría proponer ante el pedido de diseñar la pick-up más delirante del mercado. Porque la flamante Hennessey VelociRaptoR 6x6 que se presentó hoy es 100% real y ya se puede comprar pagando en "Dólar Hennessey".
Sobre la base de la conocida Ford F-150 Raptor R, el preparador Hennessey desarrolló y fabricó en Texas (Estados Unidos) una pick-up con seis ruedas y tracción total. La F-150 Raptor R es la variante V8 Supercharged de 700 caballos (no hay que confundirla con la F-150 Raptor que se vende en la Argentina, con el V6 biturbo, leer crítica).
Para esta creación, la gente de Hennessey no tocó la mecánica, que permanece intacta. En cambio, lo que sí se modificó fue el chasis, la carrocería y -por supuesto- los ejes de transmisión.
La carrocería creció al extender el largo de la caja de carga (pasó de 1.7 a 2.4 metros de extensión), lo que permite ofrecer un mayor volumen y habilitó el espacio necesario para sumar el tercer eje, que tiene las mismas características del segundo: amortiguadores Fox, frenos Brembo y diferencial con bloqueo.
Con respecto al precio, Hennessey anuncia un valor de lista de 499.999 dólares, aunque el monto final puede variar. Teniendo en cuenta que para la transformación es necesario tomar como base una F-150 Raptor R, en Hennessey armaron dos listas de valores y reservas. En la primera están quienes no tienen la Raptor R, por lo tanto deben esperar primero que Ford le entregue a Hennessey una unidad para la conversión. En la segunda están quienes ya cuentan con una Raptor R para transformar: esos recibirán atención inmediata y una bonificación en accesorios. Ha nacido el "Dólar Hennessey". Hennessey transforms Ford Raptor R into fierce 700-hp v8-powered ‘VelociRaptorR 6x6’
Sealy, Texas (April 25, 2023) – Hennessey, the Texas-based hypercar manufacturer and high-performance vehicle creator, has transformed the range-topping Ford F-150 Raptor R into a six-wheel-drive supertruck with the announcement of its new ‘VelociRaptoR 6×6.’
The ‘VelociRaptoR 6×6,’ which utilizes a third-generation Ford F-150 Raptor R as its foundation, boasts an extended boxed frame and a second, fully functional, locking rear axle – tractive grip is improved by more than 50 percent. The suspension features live valve Fox dampers, and Brembo performance brakes ensure strong stopping power. A three-inch lift raises the body in preparation for Hennessey’s custom 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 37-inch off-road tires. Lastly, an expansive 8-foot (2.4 meters) long load bed replaces the stock 5.5-foot (1.67-meter) bed – cargo capacity is improved by more than 45 percent.
Complementing the mechanical upgrades are new front and rear bumpers, LED lights, and Hennessey VelociRaptoR badging. The resulting ‘VelociRaptoR 6×6’ is a beastly machine nearly 27’ long, roughly 7’ tall, and 7’ wide – with a curb weight of approximately 6,500 pounds.
The burly Ford Raptor R engine, a supercharged 5.2-liter V8, is untouched. It boasts a formidable 700 bhp @ 6,650 rpm and 640 lb-ft torque @ 4,250 rpm. That’s enough power to ensure that the commanding ‘VelociRaptoR 6×6’ dominates both on- and off-road.
